What we tried to solve
Many organizations struggle to encourage punctuality without making staff feel like they’re being micromanaged. HR teams often lack a friendly way to track attendance and share reminders while keeping trust and morale high.
The challenge: how might we create a system that promotes punctuality as a shared responsibility rather than a policing exercise?
Proposed Solution
I took the lead in organizing a one-week design sprint, making sure the process was structured yet collaborative:
Kick-off & Framing the Challenge
• Facilitated a “How Might We” workshop with HR stakeholders and team members to gather pain points.
• Consolidated notes into key “How might we encourage punctuality while maintaining trust?” questions.Defining Sprint Goals
• Led discussions to agree on a single measurable goal: Provide HR and staff with a simple, friendly tool that tracks punctuality without creating a policing culture.
• Captured assumptions and success metrics in a shared Figjam workspace.Mapping the User Journey
• Sketched the end-to-end journey from staff clock-in to HR attendance dashboards.
• Identified key screens - clock-in, punctuality percentage, staff reminders, admin overview.Ideation & Sketching
• Guided a collaborative sketch session where each participant proposed solutions to specific “How Might We” prompts.
• Helped the group vote on the most promising features.Prototyping
• We built low-fidelity wireframes in Figma covering staff and admin dashboards.
• Incorporated HR resource features such as automated team reminders and friendly update notifications.Testing & Feedback
• Organized quick user testing sessions with a small group of HR representatives.
• Collected feedback on clarity, tone, and ease of use for both staff and HR sides.
